- What room types are available at Carlton Ambassador?
At Carlton Ambassador, you can choose from three room types: the Classic Room, the Royal Room and the luxurious Residence Suite. Each room has its own distinctive style, ranging from Delft Blue to English Tudor.
- Is room service available at Carlton Ambassador?
Yes, you can easily call the reception from your room to order room service during the opening hours of Restaurant Sophia.
- Do the rooms at Carlton Ambassador receive daily cleaning service?
Yes, all our rooms are cleaned every morning. If you prefer not to be disturbed, simply hang the ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign on your door. Using our ‘Everything is Fine’ sign lets us know that you are happy and don’t require housekeeping that day, helping us in our commitment to sustainability. As a token of appreciation, we will reward you with a voucher for a complimentary drink at Restaurant Sophia.
- Will I receive fresh towels every day at Carlton Ambassador?
Fresh towels are provided daily, unless the ‘Do Not Disturb’ or ‘Everything is Fine’ sign is displayed on your door, in which case we will not enter. Towels placed on the floor will be replaced, while those hung up are assumed to be reused.
- Are toiletries provided at Carlton Ambassador?
Yes, every room is equipped with standard mini toiletries. In our Residence Rooms, you will also find extra luxurious bath amenities for an even more comfortable stay.
- Does Carlton Ambassador have rooms suitable for guests with reduced mobility?
We do not have specially adapted rooms for guests with reduced mobility, but we do offer rooms that are spacious enough for wheelchair use, particularly our Royal Rooms. We recommend contacting us by phone in advance so we can discuss your needs and add any special requests to your reservation.

- What are the check-in and check-out times at Carlton Ambassador in The Hague?
Check-in at Carlton Ambassador is available from 3:00 PM. Check-out is until 12:00 PM. Arriving earlier or leaving later? Feel free to contact the reception team about the possibilities for early check-in or late check-out.
- Does Carlton Ambassador offer parking facilities?
Yes, the hotel has a limited number of parking spaces, which must be reserved in advance due to availability. Interested in a parking spot? Please contact our reception at +31 70 363 03 63. The rate is €30 per night for one parking space, valid from check-in at 3:00 PM until check-out at 12:00 noon.
If no hotel parking is available, there are plenty of nearby parking options. Streets surrounding the hotel, including Sophialaan and Plein 1813, offer many spaces. From Monday to Saturday, parking costs €2.70 per hour from 9:00 AM to midnight and on Sundays from 1:00 PM to midnight.
It is also possible to reserve a parking spot in advance at Q-Park Mauritskade, just a 2-minute walk from our hotel.
Please note: If you choose to park in another garage in the city center, we recommend checking conditions and rates carefully to avoid any surprises. Fees can vary significantly per garage and not all garages offer a daily maximum rate.
- Does my stay at Carlton Ambassador include breakfast?
Breakfast is not included as standard, but it can easily be added to your stay. You can book it in advance when making your reservation, either online or by phone, for €22.50 per person. If you did not add breakfast at the time of booking, it is still possible to do so later, either at check-in or by contacting our reception. Should you decide on the day itself to enjoy breakfast in the restaurant, the price is €25 per person.
- Can I store my luggage before check-in or after check-out at Carlton Ambassador?
Yes, luggage can safely be stored at the hotel reception before check-in or after check-out, making it easy to enjoy more time in The Hague without carrying bags around.
- Does Carlton Ambassador offer complimentary WiFi?
Whether you are visiting The Hague for a city escape or a business stay, all rooms and public areas of the hotel offer complimentary WiFi.
- Can I book extras at Carlton Ambassador?
Yes, absolutely. When booking by phone, our reservations agent can add extras directly to your booking. For online reservations, you can book additional services via the confirmation email you receive. You are always welcome to contact the hotel for any other special requests.
- Does Carlton Ambassador rent bicycles in The Hague?
Yes, bicycles are available for rent at Carlton Ambassador to explore The Hague and Scheveningen in a relaxed way. A regular city bike costs €17.50 per day and an electric bike €29.50 per day. The rental period lasts until midnight on the day of rental. Bicycles can be reserved in advance through the reception.
- Are dogs or pets allowed at Carlton Ambassador?
Carlton Ambassador is a pet-free hotel. Guide dogs and officially registered assistance dogs are welcome upon presentation of valid documentation.

- At what time can I have breakfast at Carlton Ambassador?
Breakfast is served from Monday to Friday between 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM. On weekends (Saturday and Sunday), you can enjoy breakfast from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
- Is it possible to have breakfast before 7:00 AM at Carlton Ambassador?
It is not possible to have breakfast in the restaurant before 7:00 AM. However, we are happy to offer packed breakfast for guests with an early departure. Simply let our reception know the day before, and we will make sure a packed breakfast is ready for you, even before 7:00 in the morning.
- Can I also have dinner at Carlton Ambassador during my stay in The Hague?
Yes, Restaurant Sophia is part of the hotel and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Here you can enjoy French cuisine with a modern twist. On sunny days, the terrace is the perfect place to relax.
- Can I reserve a table at Restaurant Sophia?
Absolutely! A table at Restaurant Sophia can easily be reserved online. Prefer personal assistance? The hotel reception is available 24/7 for help with reservations or questions.

- How do I travel from Carlton Ambassador to The Hague city centre, Scheveningen Beach or The Hague Central Station?
Carlton Ambassador is centrally located in the elegant Embassy District of The Hague. The city centre is within walking distance of the hotel. The Hague Central Station can easily be reached by bus 22, 24 or 28. Scheveningen Beach is accessible by tram 1. The nearest stop, Javastraat, is only a two-minute walk from the hotel.
- Is Carlton Ambassador accessible by public transport?
Yes, from The Hague Central Station you can go by bus 22 (direction Scheveningen Noorderstrand) or 24 (direction Kijkduin). Get off at the Mauritskade stop. Follow the Alexanderstreet until Plein 1813 (roundabout), where you turn left into the Sophialaan. There you will see the hotel after 100 meters on your right.
From station Hollands Spoor you can go by tram 1 (direction Scheveningen Noorderstrand) (06:30 - 00:30). Get off at the Mauritskade stop. Follow the Alexanderstraat until Plein 1813 (roundabout), where you turn left into the Sophialaan. There you will see the hotel after 100 meters on your right.
Payments
- Is it possible to pay later or in multiple payments at Carlton Ambassador?
Unfortunately, this is not possible. Full payment is required in advance.
- Are there any additional costs after I have paid for my reservation at Carlton Ambassador?
In addition to the reservation amount, local tourist tax may still need to be paid at the hotel. In 2026, the tourist tax in The Hague is €6.20 per person per night, as determined by the municipality of The Hague.
